Initial Assessment & Studio Pilates Intro Packages

Whether you are new to the Pilates Method or new to Chatswood Pilates Studio booking an Initial Assessment is where to start.

What to expect at your Initial Assessment session:

  • One of our fully certified Pilates Practitioners will take a complete and relevant medical history and conduct a comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment.
  • The results of the posture and movement analysis is used to determine strengths, weaknesses, imbalances and level of body awareness.
  • You will also be introduced to the basic Pilates principles and how they apply uniquely to your body we so this by using the Pilates equipment whether that be the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair,  Barrels, or small apparatus. We get particular satisfaction teaching you how the Pilates alignment and movement principles can be applied to to your daily activities whether that be gardening, golfing, tennis, birdwatching just to name a few.
  • Based on all the information gathered through the Initial Pilates assessment your instructor will help you set goals that are achievable, realistic and measurable by designing a tailored Pilates program just for you.  

 

  • At Chatswood Pilates we are experienced in communicating with referring healthcare professionals and we strive to build good working relationships that ultimately benefit you as the client.  So, If you have been referred by a healthcare professional (Doctor, Physiotherapist, Chiropractor, Osteopath), with your permission we can consult with them to ensure the Pilates program we customise for you complements your treatments working synergistically to achieve your goals safety and efficiently. 

 

The Next Step: Studio Pilates Intro Packages 

All the Studio Pilates Intro Packages include the Initial Pilates Assessment. 

Our Private Pilates session are part of what makes Studio Pilates as Chatswood Pilates Studio unique. We insist on Private Pilates training so we can do our best to ensure that the integrity of the authentic Pilates method can be taught and your specific needs and goals can be catered for. During these Privates Pilates 1:1 session you will have the undivided attention of your instructor where you can experience focused learning and discuss in detail, your program, physical needs, how you are progressing and get answers to any personal questions in the privacy of our quiet boutique studio. 

If you have an injury, are recovering from one, live with a chronic condition, have special needs or simply want to experience all the benefits of Private Pilates training then we recommend: 

Intro package A: (Initial Assessment and 5 Private Studio sessions).

 

If you are new to Pilates on the equipment or have been on an extended break and are generally fit and healthy we recommend:

 Intro Package B: (Initial Assessment and three Private sessions)  

 

*Clients who prefer individual attention or those that have special needs such as pre/post natal and injury rehabilitation benefit most from ongoing private sessions. Discounted packages are available for Pilates Private Sessions. 

Private sessions are essential for teaching the Pilates fundamental movement and alignment principles correctly in relation to your individual needs determined through your initial assessment. A minimum of 4 Private Studio sessions are recommended. These sessions are a pre-requisite to joining any of the Group Studio Pilates Equipment sessions if you have had NO previous experience on the Pilates Equipment. These sessions will provide you with the experience needed to achieve the most out of your workout whether it be in a Group Studio Pilates Session or in one of our Reformer, Tower or Jumpboard classes. A minimum of one Private Studio session is a pre-requisite to join a Matwork class if you are new to Pilates. If you have any past or present injuries please discuss this with one of your certified Pilates Instructors who will help you determine what program is right for you. Clients who prefer individual attention or those that have special needs such as pre/post natal and injury rehabilitation benefit most from ongoing private sessions. Join one of our small Group Studio Pilates Sessions Max. 3 clients – 1 instructor These mixed level sessions use a combination of the Pilates equipment and matwork as part of your individually tailored program. You are closely supervised, guided and advanced through your personalized routine reaping the benefits of the Pilates Method.

Excellent if you have a few friends that want to learn together. Courses are progressive and arranged by request only. (Regular classes to start soon- keep an eye out for the new timetable)

Max. 4 clients – 1 instructor

Clients that are at a similar level of ability are taken through a set order of exercises on either the Reformer or Tower. At Chatswood Pilates Studio we have designed a variety of sequences for each level of difficulty to provide variety and challenge to all your Pilates workouts.

These dynamic flowing classes focus on coordinating the breath with the flow of movement while helping to bring your body into muscular balance as your core stability is being constantly challenged.

Preparing For Your Session

  • Wear comfortable clean workout clothes.
  • Clean non-slip socks.
  • Avoid heavy perfumes.
  • Mobile phone to be switched off.
  • Avoid eating less than an hour before your session.
  • If arriving after 6pm during the week or on the weekend use buzzer: press 401 and “bell’ icon
